About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director – Finance & Commercial, you'll play a pivotal role by providing detailed Financial Data to Commercial and Operational teams to drive improved decision-making and financial performance, as well as play a pivotal role in the Tender/Pricing process to drive financial success.

As part of a small Finance Team, you will have the opportunity to help shape strategy, improve processes and make a real impact on the business. The role can be based in Bowen or Airlie Beach, with regular attendance at our Bowen Head Office (a minimum of 2 days per week).

Core Responsibilities

  • Preparing detailed Budgets and Forecasts to Job Level.

  • Preparing Monthly Reporting Packs to Operational Leads with Commentary.

  • Providing Detailed Financial Data as part of the Tender/Pricing process.

What You'll Bring

Essential Experience

  • Detailed Budgeting, Forecasting, and Reporting.

  • Cost Accounting, including Valuation of Inventory/WIP.

  • Solid understanding of Prepayments, Accruals, and Deferrals.

  • Revenue Recognition.

  • SME hands-on finance experience.

Highly Regarded

  • Month-end close processes.

  • Tax, GST, and FBT compliance.

  • Finance experience within Quarry/Mining or Civil Construction.

  • ERP/finance system implementation.

  • Statutory reporting or audit experience.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Strong financial modelling capability.

  • Power BI experience (highly desirable).

  • Experience with MYOB AccountRight and/or Microsoft Business Central (advantageous).

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance.

  • CA or CPA qualified (or currently completing).

  • Approximately 3–5+ years of professional finance experience.
