We are seeking an experienced Book Keeper to lead the finance and accounting function of our business. Based at our Mackay Head Office, this role will assist with day-to-day financial operations, provide commercial support to management, and ensure accurate, timely reporting across all sites.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Oversee the end-to-end accounting and finance functions
Manage month-end close, GL reconciliations, journals, accruals, and reporting
Process weekly payroll - 100+ employees
Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls
Knowledge of Awards, STP, Payroll Tax, Coal LSL and Labor Hire Licensing beneficial
Work closely with Directors and operational managers on financial performance, cost control, and business improvement opportunities
Prepare monthly financial and operational reports including WIP, stock, and accounts summaries.
Manage invoice submissions and claims through customer portals (e.g. SAP Ariba) and liaise with customers regarding payments.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful, you will bring:
Proven experience in a similar Finance hands on role
Solid working knowledge of end-to-end accounting processes
High attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to partner with operational teams
Experience within manufacturing, engineering, heavy industry, or mining services (highly regarded)
Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems
MYOB competency advantageous
Formal accounting qualifications (Certificate IV, Diploma, Degree or working toward CPA/CA) will be well regarded
