About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a experienced detail driven Business Accountant to join The John Flynn College on a part time basis of 25 hours per week.
As our Business Accountant, you'll be the trusted hand behind the College's financial, legal compliance, and governance functions — making sure our resources are managed efficiently and effectively to power our strategic and operational goals. Your work will directly support a thriving college community and help shape its future.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Lead and manage financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and audit compliance.
Managing day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end processes. Including preparing financial reports for the College Board.
Lead and manage payroll administration and ensure compliance with industrial relations, tax and superannuation obligations. Including processing payroll, ensuring timely and accurate salary and wage payments.
Ensure the College complies with all relevant laws and regulatory requirements, including charity, tax, superannuation, employment and local government laws and regulations.
Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
Building strong, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and compliance

What You'll Bring
Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline (CA or CPA desirable)
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
High proficiency in MYOB (or other financial software), Excel and Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of risk management and regulatory compliance in a not-for-profit environment
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
