The Health Information Services team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Senior Information Access Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

  • The Senior Information Access Officer is responsible for the high-level support and processing of applications for information within IAU, in accordance with relevant legislation and policies across MHHS.
  • The position is a delegated back-up Decision Maker under the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) and is a key contact for applications to MHHS for access to information.
  • This position reports to the Manager Information Access Unit operationally. · This position has no direct reports however has operational accountabilities for the functions undertaken by the AO3 and AO4 positions within the Information Access Unit (IAU). · HIS Reports to the Executive Director Corporate Services.

Health Information Services (HIS) provides specialist services that embrace the overall commitment to the management and provision of quality patient information to the Mackay Hospital and Health Service.

The service is comprised of the following key areas: Health Information Management, Clinical Coding, Data Quality, Information Access, Scanning Unit, Medical Typing, Corporate Records, Mail Room and the Switchboard.
