Senior Compliance Officer role in Emerald with great hourly rates, a 9-day fortnight and an immediate start!

Your new company 
Our client is a respected local government organisation committed to maintaining high standards of compliance, safety and community development. They pride themselves on delivering essential services while fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.Your new role 
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with planning schemes and relevant legislation across building, plumbing and development activities. You will undertake investigations, enforce regulatory requirements, and provide expert advice aligned with council policies and procedures. This is a hands-on position requiring strong stakeholder engagement and a sound understanding of local government compliance frameworks.What you'll need to succeed 

  • Minimum Queensland C Class provisional drivers’ licence
  • General Construction Induction Card (or ability to obtain)
  • Demonstrated experience in enforcing planning schemes and relevant legislation (planning, plumbing, building)
  • Strong understanding of council policies and procedures
  • Previous local government experience (highly regarded)
  • Degree in Building, Compliance, Urban & Regional Planning or related discipline (desirable)
  • Pool Safety Certificate or ability to obtain (desirable)
  • Eligibility for professional association membership (desirable)
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety (desirable)
  • QBCC Occupational Plumbing & Drainage Licence (desirable)
