Your new company

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established environmental consultancy with a strong footprint across North Queensland. With a large and growing Townsville office and a team of 60+ professionals, the business is recognised for delivering high-quality environmental management, ecology and fauna services to a diverse client base including government and private sector organisations.
Following an internal departure, they are now seeking an experienced Regional Manager to lead the North Queensland operations and continue driving growth across the region.

Your new role

As Regional Manager, you will take ownership of the North Queensland region, leading a multidisciplinary team while driving operational performance, business development and strategic growth.

You will be responsible for:
  • Leading and mentoring a team of 60+ staff across ecology, fauna and environmental services
  • Driving business development and identifying new opportunities across the region
  • Managing key client relationships across government, infrastructure and resources sectors
  • Overseeing project delivery to ensure quality, safety and client satisfaction
  • Contributing to strategic planning and regional growth initiatives
  • Supporting a strong team culture focused on collaboration, performance and innovation
  • Driving financial performance including budgeting, revenue growth and cost optimisation
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, quality assurance and safety standards
  • Leading multi-site operations across the North Queensland region
  • Embedding innovation, continuous improvement and best-practice environmental solutions
This is a hands-on leadership role where you may also step into the field when required.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced leader with a background in environmental services or a closely related industry.
We are open to candidates from:
  • Environmental consultancy (ecology, fauna, vegetation etc.)
  • Mining/resources or other relevant field-based industries
You will bring:
  • Proven experience in operational management, business development and/or project management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage medium to large teams
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across clients, government and industry
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to drive growth and performance
  • Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting and resource allocation
  • Ability to lead geographically dispersed or multi-site teams
  • Sound understanding of environmental services and/or relevant legislation (preferred)
A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, environmental management, planning, engineering or a related discipline is preferred, but not essential. Practical experience, leadership capability and industry knowledge will be highly valued.
