About the role
Become a Disability Support Worker with Life Helpers' and make a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities. This is a casual role based in Townsville, Queensland, where you will provide personalised support and assistance to help our clients live independently and achieve their goals.
What you'll be doing
Assisting clients with their daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community events
Engaging clients in recreational activities and supporting their personal development
Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to client care
Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols
What we're looking for
The ability to conduct 15-38 hrs per week including weekends
Relevant qualifications in disability support, community services, or a willingness to obtain over time.
Proven experience in providing person-centred care and support to people with disabilities is desired but not essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with clients and their families
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a commitment to client safety and wellbeing
Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of clients
A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
