About the role

Become a Disability Support Worker with Life Helpers' and make a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities. This is a casual role based in Townsville, Queensland, where you will provide personalised support and assistance to help our clients live independently and achieve their goals.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting clients with their daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks

• Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community events

• Engaging clients in recreational activities and supporting their personal development

• Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to client care

• Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols

What we're looking for

• The ability to conduct 15-38 hrs per week including weekends

• Relevant qualifications in disability support, community services, or a willingness to obtain over time.

• Proven experience in providing person-centred care and support to people with disabilities is desired but not essential 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with clients and their families

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a commitment to client safety and wellbeing

• Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of clients

• A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
