We are currently seeking a reliable, hands-on Leading Hand to support day-to-day site operations on a project in Rockhampton, QLD.


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join a commercial project in Rockhampton, QLD.

This is a hands-on role where you will take responsibility for supporting the Site Supervisor, coordinating small crews, and performing general labouring duties. You will be expected to lead by example, maintain site standards, and assist with daily site operations to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
This role suits a proactive tradesperson or experienced construction labourer ready to step into a leadership position while remaining actively involved on the tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Site Supervisor with daily site coordination and sequencing of works
• Lead and direct small crews and subcontractors on site
• Carry out general labouring and construction tasks as required
• Assist with concrete works, formwork, and structural installation
• Support set-out, site preparation, and material handling
• Manage site cleanliness, safety standards, and daily housekeeping
• Coordinate deliveries and movement of materials on site
• Identify site issues early and escalate where required
• Promote and enforce WHS compliance on site

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Leading Hand or Senior Labourer in commercial construction
• Strong understanding of construction site operations and sequencing
• Ability to supervise small teams while remaining hands-on
• Experience in concrete works, structural projects, or commercial fit-outs highly regarded
• Solid knowledge of WHS requirements
• White Card (essential)
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in regional Queensland conditions
