Disability Support Worker – Casual

Townsville Support Solutions is seeking an experienced and reliable Disability Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. This role suits someone with strong availability, practical life skills, and experience supporting participants with complex needs.

About the Role

You will provide person-centred support to NDIS participants in their homes and the community as well as in the Nexus, assisting Participants to build independence, develop daily living skills, and participate safely in everyday activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualised, respectful support aligned with participant goals

• Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation and cooking

• Teach and support life skills such as using public transport and community access

• Implement and follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs)

• Support participants with psychosocial disability using trauma-informed approaches

• Encourage independence, choice, and social participation

• Maintain accurate documentation and follow NDIS Practice Standards

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker (preferred)

• Strong cooking skills and ability to teach daily living skills

• Good availability and flexibility for casual shifts

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check

• Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module

• Current Driver’s Licence

• Current Working With Children Check
