St Patrick’s College Townsville is an independent, secondary Catholic all-girls' day and boarding school in the Mercy tradition. With a stunning oceanfront campus, the College offers young women an educational experience empowering them to dare to imagine their future. 

The College is seeking a casual Instrumental Music Teacher - Percussion. Highly desired qualifications and experience include:

  • Ability to teach secondary age students across drum-kit and tuned and untuned percussion

  • Experience conducting and leading a percussion ensemble

St Patrick’s College Townsville offers a vibrant Instrumental Music Department that prioritises student performance and musicianship. Instrumental and vocal students develop their skills through a comprehensive approach that integrates music reading and aural training, fostering confident performers proficient across various genres and styles. Instrumental lessons are complemented by weekly ensemble rehearsals and classroom music studies. Students have the opportunity to showcase their talents through the St Patrick’s College Townsville Concert Series, Eisteddfod, and other school and community performances.

An ideal candidate would share these objectives for student development, demonstrate a commitment to growing alongside the department and its programs and show an ability to be able to work in a team with other Instrumental Music Teachers and the Head of Faculty - Music & Performance.
