About the role

Jungle Zoo ELC is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Trainee Early Childhood Educator to join our team. This is a full-time role based in Whitsundays, QLD 4802, where you will play a vital part in supporting the learning and development of young children in our vibrant and nurturing childcare environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Actively participate in the planning and delivery of engaging educational programs for children aged 0-5 years

  • Provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development

  • Observe and document children's progress, interests, and needs to inform individualised learning plans

  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and the wider community

  • Assist with the general operations of the childcare centre, including maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene

  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education

What we're looking for

  • A demonstrated passion for working with young children and a commitment to their wellbeing and development

  • Enrolment or willingness to enrol in a relevant early childhood education and care qualification (e.g., Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues

  • Creativity and enthusiasm to plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences

  • Awareness of early childhood development, including age-appropriate activities and behaviour guidance strategies

  • A positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude

  • A valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)

  • A current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)
