About The BUSY School…

The BUSY School is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation presenting over 47 years as a community partner providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, Inclusive Employment Support, and allied health services.

The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 10 campuses across Queensland and New Zealand, providing an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. Our program has expanded to include The BUSY School Online (TBSO) offering flexible access to our program for all students across Queensland.

Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our team support the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increases their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes.

Our teams’ focus is centred at re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and gain employment or further training outcomes upon student’s graduation from Year 12.

 


About the position

The BUSY School actively engages young people who have disengaged or are at risk of disengaging from mainstream schooling or other educational programs. The Teacher's Aide role will support Teachers to maximise learning outcomes for young people who need significant adjustments and interventions to their learning program along with providing administrative support to the BUSY School.

This is a Permanent part time role based at our Townsville campus working school hours during term time only. This role is due to commence asap.

About you...

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse groups (i.e. students, parents, employers, school personnel, training providers and government departments)
  • Previous experience in a similar role within youth support services and/or education sector 
  • Analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card and National Police Check with no outcomes
