Our client is a seeking a motivated Farm Hand to join their dedicated team on a 1,200ha sugarcane farm located approximately 40km south-west of Home Hill, and 30 minutes from Ayr. The client predominantly grows irrigated cane, with rotational crops including sorghum, mung beans, and soybeans. Our client prides themselves on modern farming practices and continuous investment in equipment to ensure efficient operations. As a Farm Hand, you will play a vital role in supporting their daily farming activities, contributing to the cultivation and maintenance of the crops. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills in agriculture while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.​

Key Responsibilities:

  • General plant operations, including ground preparation, fertilising, hilling up, and slashing/mulching
  • Spraying around houses, sheds, and pump sites
  • Assisting with irrigation duties as needed

Attributes:

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in spray rig operation and planting grain and cane crops is a plus, but not essential

You'll work with modern equipment, including John Deere and CASE machinery. You will be part of  supportive team . On site accommodation can be arranged or a site for a caravan. A work Vehicle will also be provided. If you're seeking a long term role in a great location apply now!
