About us:

Rockhampton's Nurse and Midwife Navigator Service are the team guiding every journey with care and compassion, making even the most complex pregnancies feel supported, safe, and surprisingly joyful!

Working at an advanced practice level, we partner with women and their families across the full maternity journey, advocating for her needs and preferences, offering clinical expertise, continuity of care and support in managing identified risks.

From hospital to home and out into the community, we're right there delivering care – keeping safety at the heart of everything, championing informed choices, and ensuring each woman's preferences are respected on her unique pregnancy journey.

About the role:
  • Support women through complex and high‑risk pregnancies with clarity, confidence, and compassion. Cut through fragmented systems and remove barriers so that coordinated, personalised care becomes accessible for every woman in the community.
  • Partner closely with each woman and her family, advocating fiercely for her choices while providing expert clinical guidance. Empower women with knowledge, strengthen health literacy, and ensure they feel heard, respected, and in control throughout their journey.
  • Collaborate across specialties and services within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, linking primary, secondary, and tertiary care to create seamless pathways and improved outcomes.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, champion evidence‑based practice, support education and research, and drive positive change while fostering a culture of compassion, excellence, and continuous improvement in midwifery care.
About you:
  • You are a Registered Midwife with current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration. Holding or working towards relevant post-graduate qualifications is highly regarded.
  • You communicate with warmth and clarity, building strong, respectful relationships with women, families and colleagues. You're approachable, supportive, and confident in navigating complex conversations and situations.
  • You bring advanced clinical knowledge, sharp critical thinking, and expert judgement to complex maternity care, delivering high-quality, person-centred support both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • You have experience working across multiple specialties and care settings, helping connect hospital, community, and primary care to support coordinated, seamless journeys for women. You're flexible, proactive, and focused on improving system-wide care delivery.
What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $145,994 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $70.58 - $76.63 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
