Medical Receptionist – Part Time or Casual

Join the friendly team at JCU Health!

Located in Douglas, Townsville, JCU Health is a modern, community-focused healthcare facility providing holistic care for individuals and families. Under one roof, we bring together our accredited General & Allied Health Practice and a range of Allied Health Teaching Clinics and services to support the health and wellbeing of the Townsville community.

Our General Practice is home to 12 dedicated doctors, registered nurses and midwives, a Paediatrician, Clinical Psychologists, Psychologists, Dietitians, and an Aesthetic Nurse. While JCU Health operates independently from the Allied Health Teaching Clinics of James Cook University, we work collaboratively to deliver the best possible patient care.

About the Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our busy and supportive General Practice team on either a part-time or casual basis.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming experience while providing reception, administration, and billing support to our healthcare professionals.

We're seeking someone who is:

  • Friendly, professional, and well presented

  • Organised and reliable

  • Punctual and able to multitask in a busy environment

  • A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills

  • A team player who enjoys helping others

Skills & Experience

Experience in a General Practice environment is highly regarded, particularly:

  • Best Practice software experience

  • Knowledge of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS)

However, these are not essential. If you're an experienced administrator with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

Why Join Us?

At JCU Health, you'll be part of a friendly and supportive team that genuinely cares about its patients and each other. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career, develop your skills, and make a real difference in your local community.

If you're looking for a fresh challenge and think you'd be a great fit for our team, apply now – we'd love to meet you!
