Are you looking for a practice that invests heavily in your professional growth, while balancing clinical diversity with elite-level standards?
Active Health Psychology is a community-focused practice with a unique edge. We are proud to be the official psychology providers for the reigning WNBL Champions, the Townsville Fire, as well as the Townsville Blackhawks and NQ United Netball.
While we work with elite athletes, our heart lies in providing exceptional care to the broader Townsville community. Our team works across the full spectrum of mental health, supporting children, teens, adults, and NDIS participants. We also take our passion beyond the clinic walls, delivering mental health and performance workshops for local sporting clubs and community programs.
Working across the NQ Cowboys High Performance Centre and our Douglas practice, you will be supported with a tailored caseload built entirely around your clinical passions, whether that is paediatrics, complex trauma, community education, or sports performance.
Gold-Standard Supervision: Accessible, high-quality, internal Board-Approved Primary Supervision tailored to your pathway (for provisional applicants).
Elite Networking & Collaboration: Work alongside a high-performance network of allied health professionals (Physios, S&C Coaches, and Sports Doctors) who lead the way in professional sports.
Diverse Clinical & Community Work: A varied role that includes one-on-one therapy, play therapy, and dynamic community group workshops.
Real Work-Life Balance: Protect your own mental health with a half-day every Friday.
Unique Lifestyle Perks: Free gym membership at the state-of-the-art NQ Cowboys High Performance Centre and box seats at Townsville Fire home games.
Active Therapy: We embrace "active" counselling techniques, utilising our beautiful surroundings and modern facilities to move beyond the traditional desk-bound model.
Full Administrative Support: A dedicated admin team to handle the billing and booking, letting you focus entirely on your clients.
Provide evidence-based support to a diverse mix of private clients, MHCP, NDIS, and athletes.
Deliver a range of interventions and assessments tailored to the individual.
Facilitate engaging mental health, well-being, and performance workshops for local sporting clubs and community programs.
Collaborate with broader high-performance multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for athletes and the community.
Participate in collaborative team case discussions and structured internal training.
Registration: Current AHPRA Registration OR 5th/6th year AHPRA pathway enrolment.
Values: A commitment to inclusive, client-centered care and a desire to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
