This established, committed service welcomes enthusiastic Registered Psychologist to join their professional and friendly team in Townsville! You will have the opportunity to grow in your desired direction (leadership, clinical supervision, clinical progression and more!). Join a team who is dedicated to providing client-centred support to children and adults. Clients have a range of goals, functional abilities and complex needs. Provide your expertise as an experienced Psychologist to guide and support them. You will be working with a friendly, multi-disciplinary team providing clinic-based and community service delivery to clients within your scope with a range of presentations.
As a Registered Psychologist, you will bring professional expertise, passion, and sound clinical judgment to support clients with a range of psychological needs. Working independently, you will provide therapeutic interventions and psychometric assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, including those requiring a high level of psychological support. You will be committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care that helps clients achieve meaningful outcomes.
The role:
Supporting children, adolescents, and their families through evidence-based assessment and therapeutic intervention, helping them build confidence, develop skills, and achieve meaningful outcomes.
Conducting comprehensive psychological and psychometric assessments, developing individualised recommendations and intervention plans tailored to each child's strengths, goals, and support needs.
Working collaboratively with parents, carers, educators, medical professionals, and other members of the child's support network to create positive and lasting change.
Providing guidance, education, and practical strategies to families, schools, and support teams, empowering those around the child to foster growth and success.
Contributing to a culture of clinical quality through mentoring, supervision, knowledge sharing, and participation in professional development opportunities.
Helping shape and enhance service delivery through involvement in quality improvement initiatives, program development, and evidence-based practice.
Building strong relationships with clients, families, referrers, and community stakeholders, ensuring every family receives a warm, responsive, and high-quality service experience.
Requirements:
Tertiary Qualifications in Psychology with General AHPRA Registration (Experienced Provisional Psychologists are also warmly welcomed to apply!)
A strong passion and interest in providing life changing interventions to individuals
Strong communication and rapport building skills
Creativity and ability to make therapy fun and engaging for children
Strong documentation and report writing skills
Driver’s licence and car
Experience delivering psychological intervention is essential
Experience working with children is highly desired
