We are a dedicated medical administration company supporting Dr. Kurinji Kannan, a leading Urogynaecologist and Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, at our well-established specialist practice located in Hyde Park. We provide high-quality, patient-centred care in a friendly and professional environment.
We are now looking to welcome experienced, competent, and reliable Medical Receptionists to join our small and supportive team.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Medical Receptionist, you will work closely with our specialist doctor and other health professionals whom we may serve. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
Greeting and welcoming patients with empathy and professionalism
Answering phone calls promptly and maintaining accurate call records
Scheduling patient appointments with strong attention to detail
Coordinating with hospitals for theatre lists and procedural planning
Billing patients and processing payments via Medicare, DVA, private funds, and EFTPOS
Reconciling receipts and reporting billing information to the doctor or business manager
Order a variety of supplies and maintain stock as directed
Managing administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, faxing, mailouts, updating records, maintaining data quality, promotional and general liaison work
Minimum 3 years’ experience in medical reception, in a specialist practice or General/Allied practice
Proficiency in Genie software desirable across all key functions:
Creating and updating patient records
Appointment scheduling and modifications
Billing (including deposits, receipts, claims submission, and reporting)
Running Medicare and private health fund updates
⚠️ Candidates without demonstrable Genie experience are unlikely to be shortlisted for interview. We may be able to consider experienced medical receptionists without Genie experience on mutually acceptable terms of employment.

You will be part of a three people team
Team members will be rostered between 08:00 - 05:30. Our clinic may run upto 06:30 pm on Tuesdays occasionally. A mutually agreed roster will be made to have a staff member to provide support on late clinic days.
Occasional Saturday availability, where required (these are very rare and planned in advance)
Role is not suitable for those who have significant study or other commitments
The applicant will need to demonstrate productive use of work-time, and not expect to carry personal devices on hand, at all times.
For the right applicant, a part-time role can be considered.
Applicant will be able to do any admin work of related entities.
