Ozcare has a permanent part-time opportunity available for a Physiotherapist with our Mackay Community Care Branch.

Your Role

As a physiotherapist, you'll be looking after the most important people in our organisation- our clients. You'll be working with a varied caseload supporting clients funded by multiple government programs. Your interventions will be targeted towards meeting your client's goals, assisting them to stay safe and live independently as possible.

Your tasks will include:

  • Visiting community clients to assess and treat their conditions. Conditions can range between musculoskeletal, neurological, cardio-respiratory in nature. Your interventions will be goals orientated and client centred
  • Generate client-based home exercise programs which are safe to complete independently and to assist the client to work towards self-care development and independence of their rehabilitation
  • Complete mobility assessments and provide physiotherapy interventions to maintain, progress and rehabilitate your clients function within their home environment and in the community
  • Where appropriate report back to case managers regarding client conditions and provide recommendations for physiotherapy interventions. Also, where suitable, make additional referrals (nursing, OT, dietetics) to provide wholistic care to our clients for optimal health outcomes
  • Apply for mobility aids through MASS, GEAT2GO and NDIS funding programs

Role Requirements

  • Must have availability to work within a Monday to Friday schedule (8:00am to 16:10pm). No weekends, nights or public holidays!
  • Current Police Screening Certificate (valid within past 3 years)
  • Current (P) PAID NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) & be in possession of relevant qualification.
  • Current Queensland driver's licence
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
  • Proof of immunity, or willingness to become vaccinated against, Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (Chicken Pox) & Pertussis (Whooping Cough).
  • Strong computer & mobile device skills
