Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is located in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef.  With stunning views out to the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island. 

Enjoy a spectacular 30-minute ferry to the mainland, with the island offering one of the closest Whitsunday Island connections to Airlie Beach.


With three restaurants, multiple bar outlets, and vibrant events spaces we are looking for a passionate hospitality professional to join our Food & Beverage leadership team and help bring unfortgettable experiences to life. 

Infinity Restaurant – With expansive views of the Whitsunday Islands, Infinity Restaurant delivers an exceptional Asian inspired dining experience.  A feast for all senses.

Salti Kitchen and Bar – Overlooking the pool and with a beachfront location, Salti offers a vibrant family friendly restaurant featuring modern Australian cuisine, premium steaks, pizzas and casual dining experiences. 

Graze Interactive Dining –  Offering daily buffet breakfast.

Beyond the restaurants, you will support resort bar operations, creating memorable guest experiences, driving commercial results, and maintaining best in class service across the Food & Beverage department. 

This is a hands-on role for a leader who enjoys being in the thick of the action—someone who leads by example, inspires their team, and thrives in a vibrant, fast-paced resort environment.

About the role

  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences and consistently exceed customer expectations
  • Drive sales performance and maximise revenue opportunities
  • Engage, inspire and effectively manage your F&B team to achieve excellence
  • Manage labour costs and productivity to achieve budgeted targets
  • Implement positive change for operational improvements and efficiencies
  • Positively respond to all queries (both internal and external)
  • Commitment to the immaculate presentation, ambience, and cleanliness of all outlets whilst ensuring food safety and hygiene compliance
  • Identifying and resolving issues efficiently

About You 

  • Previous experience within a resort, hotel or multi-outlet hospitality environment
  • Proven experience managing large and diverse teams, with a strong ability to lead, inspire and develop people
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to thrive in fast paced environments
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales performance and consistently improving guest satisfaction
  • Sound understanding of labour management, rostering, and cost of goods control
  • Excellent knowledge of wines, cocktails and beverage service standards  
  • Experience training, mentoring, and developing hospitality professionals to achieve high performance
  • High standards of personal presentation and professional conduct
  • Ability to remain calm, organised and solutions focused under pressure
  • A genuine passion for hospitality with a commitment to building a long term leadership career in the industry
  • Knowledge of Micros point of sale system would be a definite advantage
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA)
  • Current Responsbile Management of Licensed Venues certification (RMLV) would be advantageous
  • Must be authorised to work in Australia under relevant visa or citizenship requirements

This is a live on island position, and you will be required to be available to work rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.
