Townsville Grammar School is one of the original Grammar Schools of Queensland. The Year 7-12 campus is located on the original site at North Ward. The School also operates two Junior School campuses, both offering Pre-Prep to Year 6, at Annandale and North Shore.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and innovative Hospitality Teacher/ Co‑ordinator to join our high calibre teaching team. About the Role

The Hospitality Teacher/Co‑ordinator is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality learning experiences while leading the development and coordination of a practical, industry-aligned program. This role combines classroom teaching with subject leadership, focusing on applied learning that equips students with transferable skills for further education and future employment pathways.

You will play a key role in fostering a dynamic and supportive learning environment, ensuring programs remain contemporary, relevant and aligned with curriculum requirements, while contributing to the broader academic, pastoral and co‑curricular life of the School.

This position commences Term 4, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute both as a classroom teacher and subject leader.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs aligned with curriculum standards
• Leading the planning, implementation and review of the subject curriculum to ensure consistency, innovation and industry relevance
• Creating authentic, applied learning experiences that engage students and build practical, transferable skills
• Monitoring, assessing and reporting on student progress, with timely and meaningful feedback
• Maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment that reflects the School’s values and expectations
• Supporting student wellbeing through active participation in the pastoral care program and Positive Education framework

You will also contribute more broadly to the life of the School by collaborating with colleagues, engaging professionally with parents and the community, and participating in co‑curricular activities and key School events

About you

You are a passionate and student-focused educator who is committed to delivering engaging, relevant and high-quality learning experiences. You bring strong organisational and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to lead and innovate within a subject area.

You will demonstrate:

• Relevant teaching qualifications and current QCT registration
• Experience teaching Hospitality or a closely related area
• Strong classroom management and the ability to engage a diverse range of learners
• A collaborative approach to teaching and a commitment to continuous improvement
• Initiative, organisation and the capacity to lead and develop a subject area
• A genuine commitment to the ethos and values of independent schooling, including involvement in pastoral and co‑curricular programs
• Experience in the hospitality industry or subject leadership, along with relevant certifications, will be highly regarded.
