About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Venue Manager to join our team in Mackay, QLD.

This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to lead and manage day-to-day operations at one of our hospitality venues. As Venue Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer experiences, maintaining high operational standards, and driving business performance. This role is pivotal in delivering the quality service and atmosphere that our guests expect, whilst contributing to the overall success and profitability of the venue.

Key responsibilities

  1. Oversee all daily operations of the venue, including opening and closing procedures, staff rostering, and resource management

  2. Lead, motivate and supervise a diverse team of hospitality staff, ensuring high levels of performance and customer service

  3. Maintain health, safety and hygiene standards in compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies

  4. Manage inventory, stock control and ordering for food, beverages and supplies

  5. Monitor financial performance, control costs and work towards achieving budgeted targets and revenue goals

  6. Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently met through staff training and development

  7. Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally, implementing solutions to enhance guest satisfaction

  8. Maintain venue cleanliness, maintenance and presentation standards at all times

  9. Liaise with management on strategic initiatives, marketing activities and venue improvements

  10. Prepare reports on venue performance, staffing and operational matters as required


What we're looking for

  1. Proven experience as a Venue Manager

  2. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

  3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and team members

  4. Sound knowledge of hospitality operations, including food safety, health and hygiene standards

  5. Proficiency with point-of-sale systems, inventory management software and other hospitality technology

  6. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs and drive revenue growth

  7. Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

  8. Current QLD RMLV, Approved Managers License, Gaming Nominee and CLO are a must.

  9. Current Food Safety Supervisor certification or similar qualification is preferred
