About the Role
The Talent Acquisition Officer plays a key role in delivering a high-quality, candidate-focused recruitment function at Townsville City Council. As a member of the Recruitment Team, you will drive end-to-end recruitment, from sourcing and selection through to offers and onboarding, while acting as a trusted point of contact for recruitment-related queries.
You will partner closely with department leaders and hiring managers to guide and influence hiring decisions, proactively sourcing, assessing, and presenting high-quality candidates aligned to business needs. With a strong focus on experience, you will ensure a seamless and positive journey for candidates, hiring managers, and stakeholders at every stage.
About You
You are a proactive and capable HR professional with experience in recruitment across internal and external environments. Ideally, you hold a Certificate IV in Human Resources (or equivalent) and bring a sound understanding of relevant legislation and industrial instruments, enabling you to deliver compliant and high-quality recruitment outcomes within a diverse organisation.
You have demonstrated experience supporting day-to-day operations within a recruitment or HR function, including coordinating workflows, managing competing priorities, and contributing to team success. Your strong organisational skills and attention to detail ensure accuracy across all stages of the recruitment and onboarding process.
As a confident and engaging communicator, you build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and deliver exceptional service. You are highly proficient in HRIS platforms and the Microsoft Office Suite, and you bring a continuous improvement mindset, always looking for ways to enhance processes and the overall recruitment experience.
