The team you will support plays a crucial role in ensuring safe work practices, strong compliance, and effective implementation of safety management frameworks across diverse worksites and operational teams.
Your new role
This AO6 opportunity places you in a senior WHS leadership position, providing expert guidance, oversight and support across a busy regional portfolio. In this role, you will:
- Manage the development and delivery of WHS training, information sessions and regional capability programs, including coordination with external providers.
- Provide high‑level WH&S advice to operational staff, supervisors and managers, ensuring compliance with safety legislation, Codes of Practice, Standards and internal WHS frameworks.
- Lead and support WHS audits and inspections across construction and maintenance sites, ensuring compliance for both internal and contractor‑delivered work.
- Lead hazard and incident investigations, prepare formal reports and educate staff on incident reporting processes and safety expectations.
- Oversee emergency planning and response readiness across offices and depots.
- Lead the development, review and implementation of WHS Management System processes, including risk assessments, safe work systems and WHS management plans.
- Provide regional senior management with formal WHS performance reporting, including KPI tracking, trends and recommendations.
- Support the management of staff rehabilitation and return‑to‑work processes.
- Coach, mentor and support WHS team members, fostering capability, performance and positive safety culture.
- Provide WHS advice relevant to individual works programs and support program managers in safe delivery of their projects.
- Lead staff in the adoption of new WHS technologies, including asbestos and lead management systems.
- Review Environmental and Safety Management System procedures and make recommendations for improvement.
You will play a pivotal role in strengthening WHS governance, culture and operational capability across a large and diverse regional workforce.

This role is ideal for an experienced WHS professional with strong advisory capability and demonstrated leadership experience in complex operational environments.
We're looking for someone who offers:
- Demonstrated experience providing advice on WHS legislative compliance, including legislation, Codes of Practice and Standards.
- Strong knowledge of construction or similar industries, with the ability to identify hazards and implement effective controls.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering WHS programs, training and improvement initiatives.
- Proven capability to lead and manage staff within a complex work environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence providing guidance, resolving issues and influencing safety outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, WHS documentation and recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills in safety, risk and incident management.
- Demonstrated capability consistent with the Team Leader competencies
