Human Resources Advisor (Part-Time)

Coral Sea Resort is seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Advisor to work closely with the General Manager and leadership team to create a positive, professional and high-performing workplace culture.

This is a unique and varied role that extends beyond traditional HR responsibilities. In addition to supporting our people and ensuring compliance, the successful candidate will play an important role in staff accommodation, recruitment, workplace health and safety, onboarding and employee wellbeing initiatives.

The position is initially part-time; however, there is flexibility for the role to increase in hours for the right person as the business continues to grow.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional HR advice and support to managers and team members

  • Ensure compliance with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award (HIGA), Fair Work legislation and employment obligations

  • Manage recruitment, selection, onboarding and induction processes

  • Coordinate employment contracts, policies and employee records

  • Support performance management, disciplinary processes and workplace investigations

  • Assist with employee engagement, retention and workplace culture initiatives

  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professional standards at all times

  • Work closely with the General Manager to develop a positive and accountable workplace culture

 

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

  • Assist with workplace health and safety administration and compliance

  • Support incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions

  • Coordinate safety training, inductions and compliance documentation

  • Assist with maintaining registers, policies and safety records

  • Support the Health and Safety Committee and workplace wellbeing initiatives

 

Staff Accommodation & Administration

  • Coordinate staff accommodation requirements and allocations

  • Liaise with property managers, real estate agencies and accommodation providers

  • Coordinate accommodation inspections, maintenance requests and cleaning schedules

  • Manage staff uniform ordering, distribution and stock control

  • Assist with workforce planning and employee logistics

  • Support new team members relocating to the Whitsunday


Essential Requirements

  • Formal qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations or a related discipline

  • Demonstrated HR experience, preferably within hospitality, tourism or service industries

  • Strong knowledge of HIGA, Fair Work legislation and employment practices

  • Experience managing employee relations, performance and conduct matters

  • Understanding of workplace health and safety obligations and processes

  • Excellent communication, organisation and administration skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR administration systems
