Are you organised, people-focused and confident in keeping recruitment and HR administration moving in a busy operational business? We are looking for a part-time Recruitment & HR Administrator to support our Townsville-based team with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, training and people administration.

This is a practical, hands-on support role. You will help managers attract, onboard and support employees, while making sure candidate information, employee records, compliance items and follow-up actions are accurate, current and easy to find.

This is not a senior HR management role. It is a busy administration and coordination role suited to someone who enjoys recruitment, clear communication, confidentiality, systems and strong follow-through.

You will work closely with managers, coordinators, operational teams and the People/Safety function. Your focus will be keeping recruitment, onboarding and employee administration organised, professional and moving.

What you will do

· Support recruitment activity, including job advertising, candidate communication, application management, interview coordination and follow-up.

· Conduct initial phone screening where required and keep hiring managers updated on candidate progress.

· Maintain recruitment records in JobAdder or similar systems, including candidate status, notes, documents and communication history.

· Coordinate pre-employment checks, references, employment paperwork, WorkPro inductions, online assessments and onboarding requirements.

· Prepare and maintain employee files, onboarding documents, training records, licences, tickets, medicals and other people compliance information.

· Coordinate employee communication and follow-up across email, phone, text and other approved channels.

· Support training bookings, USIs, inductions, uniforms, access requirements and other new starter administration.

· Assist with employee changes, terminations and offboarding administration, including access removal checklists and record updates.

· Support HR and safety administration where required, including medical bookings, functional assessments, suitable duties documentation, WorkCover/RTW administration and confidential record keeping.

· Help maintain simple trackers for recruitment, onboarding, training, licences, medicals, employee documents and outstanding actions.

· Identify missing information, process gaps or overdue actions and escalate them early to the relevant manager.

What you will bring

· Experience in recruitment administration, HR administration, onboarding, office administration, workforce coordination or a similar support role.

· Strong organisation skills and the ability to keep multiple tasks, candidates, records and deadlines moving at the same time.

· Confident communication skills with candidates, employees, managers, agencies and external providers.

· High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accurate records and clean system information.

· A high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling employee, medical and business information.

· Confidence using systems such as JobAdder, WorkPro, Microsoft 365, SharePoint or similar business platforms.

· A practical, helpful approach and the ability to follow through without needing constant direction.

· Experience in construction, industrial services, labour hire, manufacturing, trades, mining services or another operational environment will be highly regarded.

· Exposure to training records, medicals, safety administration, injury management or return-to-work administration will be an advantage but is not essential.

Why join us?

· A part-time role based in Townsville.

· A varied support role across recruitment, onboarding, employee records and people administration.

· The opportunity to help improve how recruitment, onboarding and employee information is managed.

· A practical team environment where organisation, communication and follow-through are valued.
