Moorvale Earthmoving is a proudly family-owned Queensland business delivering mining, civil construction, rehabilitation and earthmoving services across the Bowen Basin and surrounding regions.
 
With a growing workforce and expanding project portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our people function and support the continued growth of our business.

About the Role
 
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and delivering end-to-end human resources, workforce planning and recruitment functions across the business.
 
Working closely with operational leaders, project teams and support departments, you will provide strategic and practical HR leadership while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, industrial obligations and client requirements.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing strategic and operational HR advice across the business
  • Leading employee relations, investigations, disciplinary matters and performance management processes
  • Driving workforce planning and recruitment strategies to support operational requirements
  • Managing onboarding, mobilisation and compliance activities
  • Supporting leadership development, succession planning and workforce capability initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with Fair Work, WHS, Workers Compensation and Anti-Discrimination legislation
  • Managing employment contracts, policies and employment-related documentation
  • Monitoring and maintaining employee records, licences, competencies and site compliance requirements
  • Partnering with leaders to build positive workplace culture and employee engagement
  • Providing accurate HR reporting and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting workforce accommodation and camp operations where required
About You
 
To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and capable HR professional who enjoys partnering with leaders and supporting operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
 
You will bring:
Essential
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior HR or People & Culture role
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation, industrial relations and HR best practice
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations matters
  • Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder management capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Current unrestricted C Class Driver Licence
Highly Regarded
  • Experience within mining, civil construction, resources or heavy industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations or a related discipline
  • Experience with mobilisation, compliance and client portal systems including Pegasus, Damstra, BHP and Anglo platforms
