Vegies Unlimited has been established for over 30 years, specialising in Fruit & Vegetables. We support other local businesses and employ local staff contributing to a resilient local community.  We have a retail outlet serving the general public and a wholesale depot where we pack orders for customers such as restaurants, cafes, hotels, aged care facilities, hospitals and accommodation camps.

 

We are seeking an experienced staff member to join our team as – 

Wholesale order packer

 

Role Description includes but is not limited to:

* Supervision of staff and scheduling workflow

* Packing orders to suit customer requirements

*Food preparation - Sorting, cutting, bagging & cleaning fruit & vegetables

* Quality control - Stock rotation, checking quality of produce/use by dates
* Stock picking from cold room
* Cleaning & maintaining a neat & tidy work environment

* Maintain a neat and tidy personal appearance

 

Hours of work:

* Wholesale depot operates 6 days per week.

* This position requires early starts.

* The position is casual with the opportunity for full time work after a qualifying period.

* Performance bonuses are included in this package.

 

Selection criteria:
* Food industry/Fresh produce experience/knowledge
* Reasonably fit as some heavy lifting is required.

 

Special knowledge/skills that would be an advantage to the business:
* Ability to multi-task.

* Car licence

* Forklift licence

* Knowledge of warehouse operating procedures

* Ability to supervise staff
