We are seeking an Afternoon Shift Supervisor - 2:00pm - 10:00pm - to provide strong operational leadership and support the facility through its commissioning phase and into stable, high-performing operations. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a current Forklift Licence and/or Loader Ticket.

About the role

  • Provide end-to-end supervision of plant operations, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient day-to-day performance

  • Lead, manage and develop operational teams, setting clear expectations and driving accountability

  • Monitor and optimise production output, product quality and on-time delivery performance

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to lift operational efficiency, productivity and plant reliability

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain site assets and support optimisation of equipment life cycles in collaboration with maintenance teams

  • Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring the health and wellbeing of all employees

  • Forecast labour requirements and support workforce planning across shifts

  • Provide operational input into shutdowns, plant upgrades and process improvements

  • Prepare operational reports and contribute to performance reviews and decision-making

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role within waste management, heavy industrial, manufacturing or MRF environments

  • Forklift Licence and/or Loader Ticket

  • Strong people leadership capability, with experience managing, coaching and developing teams

  • Sound understanding of safety management systems and regulatory compliance

  • Proven ability to operate, troubleshoot and optimise MRF or similar industrial equipment

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • High level of computer literacy, including reporting, documentation and operational systems

  • Flexible approach to work, including availability for weekends or overtime as required
