Purchasing Officer | Contract with Permanent Opportunity Your new company This contract opportunity sits within a high-performing industrial environment where procurement and supply coordination are critical to daily operations.
Supporting the Senior Purchasing Officer, you'll contribute to the efficient sourcing and delivery of goods while maintaining accurate purchasing records and ensuring stock levels meet operational demands. You'll work closely with both internal teams and suppliers to ensure procurement processes run smoothly and effectively. Your new role
As Purchasing Officer, you will support day-to-day procurement and supply chain activities. In this role you will: Source, order and track goods and services in line with operational requirements
Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing and ensure timely delivery Maintain accurate purchasing records, including purchase orders and invoices Monitor stock levels and coordinate reordering to avoid supply shortages
Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand and meet procurement needs Ensure all purchasing activities comply with organisational policies and procedures Assist with inventory coordination and support periodic stock takes.
Manage supplier relationships and resolve delivery or quality issues Adhere to workplace health and safety standards, including handling of hazardous materials where required This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys balancing administrative accuracy with operational support.
What you'll need to succeed You'll bring experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory coordination, along with strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Key strengths include:
Experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain support role (preferred) Exposure to inventory management and supplier coordination Ability to manage purchasing records and maintain accurate data
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with suppliers and internal teams High level attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively Understanding of procurement processes and compliance requirements
