Middlemount Coal Pty Ltd is an incorporated joint venture between Yancoal Australia and Peabody PCI Australia.  Operating at the heart of Queensland’s resources sector, we produce around 4 million tonnes annually of premium medium-volatile PCI coal and semi-hard coking coal for global export markets.

We’re on the lookout for a motivated and safety-focused Assistant Shotfirer to join our high-performing Drill & Blast Team. Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, you’ll play a hands-on role supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality blasting operations at site.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an integral part of the team, you will:

• Assist with loading explosives and priming blast holes

• Accurately dip and record blast hole data

• Set up and delineate active blast loading zones

• Perform equipment pre-start checks and ensure operational readiness

• Conduct bulk product quality testing where required

• Contribute to a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment

You will hold or be willing to obtain:

• Support Shotfirer Competency (RIIBLA205D – Store, Handle and Transport Explosives)

• QLD Explosives Security Clearance Card
