Fire Suppression Technician

About Our Client

WorkPac is currently seeking an experienced Suppression Technician for an ongoing position with a valued client based in Mackay. This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of commercial, mining and industrial sites, carrying out the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of fire suppression systems.

What You Will Be Doing

·         Service, inspect, and maintain fire suppression systems on mobile mining equipment

·         Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and compliance inspections

·         Respond to breakdowns and perform fault finding and diagnostics

·         Carry out repairs, component replacements, and system testing

·         Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately

·         Ensure all work is performed in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and site procedures

·         Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service

·         Liaise with site personnel to minimise equipment downtime and maximise system reliability

What You Will Need

·         Previous experience working on fire suppression systems, preferably within the mining industry

·         Hold a current QQBCC Licence

·         Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills

·         Ability to work autonomously in a field service environment

·         Current Driver's Licence

·         White Card (or equivalent)

·         Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

·         Commitment to maintaining high safety and workmanship standards

·         Ability to pass mine site medicals and drug & alcohol testing requirements as required by clients
