Mining Engineer - Eloise Copper Mine

About Us 

AIC Mines is entering an exciting period of growth across our North West Queensland operations, with Jericho Mine staging into production over the coming months. As we ramp up activity and prepare for this next stage, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Mining Engineer to join our growing copper business.

Located near Cloncurry in North West Queensland, Eloise Copper Mine is an established underground operation producing high-grade copper concentrate. Together with the development of Jericho, Eloise forms an important part of AIC Mines’ growth strategy and offers the opportunity to join a strong operational team focused on safety, teamwork, performance, and continuous improvement.

About the Role: 

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Creating safe and effective drill and blast designs.

  • Daily production data capturing and reporting.

  • Assist in the scheduling and coordination of activities.

  • Develop and communicate weekly and 13-week schedules.

  • Conduct project work as required.

  • Project management.

  • Maintaining a positive and productive work culture.

  • Consulting with the development and production to efficiently deliver schedule.

  • Contributing to a safe and reliable operation.

The position is FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville.  Local candidates from Cloncurry or surrounding communities can commute via bus from Cloncurry and are encouraged to apply.  This is a permanent position on an 8 days on 6 days off roster.  Accommodation is provided onsite at the Eloise Copper Mine 65km from Cloncurry.   

About You:

  • A bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or similar.

  • At least 2 years of mining engineering experience.

  • Practical and analytical approach to engineering and design problems.

  • Knowledge in underground metalliferous mining.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and Deswik.

  • Strong safety commitment and improvement mindset.
