THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the safe, compliant and commercially successful delivery of Neumann's mining and dredging operations at a mine site near Ravenswood, Queensland.
Reporting to the Operations Manager – Dredging, this role has direct responsibility for the Dredging Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisor and site administration functions associated with the contract.
You will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of site operations and will be the primary client-facing representative accountable for operational, commercial, safety and contractual outcomes across the project.
PROJECT DELIVERY & CLIENT COORDINATION
• Lead the delivery of site operations to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Act as Neumann's primary client-facing representative for the contract.
• Develop and maintain weekly and monthly execution plans aligned with client requirements, operational constraints and project objectives.
• Coordinate operational activities with the client's operational, environmental and technical teams.
• Facilitate project meetings and provide clear updates on progress, risks, constraints and upcoming activities.
PRODUCTION PERFORMANCE & OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
• Drive project productivity and ensure site activities achieve contractual production targets.
• Provide direction and support to Dredging Supervisors and Maintenance Supervisors.
• Monitor production performance, equipment availability and operational outputs.
• Identify operational constraints and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE, REPORTING & CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION
• Maintain commercial control of the contract and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Prepare end-of-month progress claims and ensure client approvals are obtained.
• Manage variations, subcontractor costs and additional works within delegated authority.
PROJECT LEADERSHIP & TEAM MANAGEMENT
• Provide leadership and direction to Supervisors, operational personnel and support functions.
• Develop and implement project strategies to achieve contractual, operational and financial objectives.
• Build and maintain a high-performing project team.
SAFETY, ENVIRONMENTAL & COMPLIANCE
• Ensure compliance with all WHS, environmental and statutory obligations.
• Lead incident investigations, risk assessments and corrective actions as required.
• Promote proactive safety leadership and visible field engagement.
IDEAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Demonstrated experience in project management within mining, civil construction, dredging, resources or heavy industry environments.
• Proven experience managing operational service contracts, mining projects or large-scale industrial operations.
• Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commercial competence including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, variation management and contract administration.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
