We are currently searching for a permanent part time sales/warehouse assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our sales and warehouse teams, providing exceptional customer service, inventory management, fulfilling orders accurately and promptly and contributing to achieving sales targets and overall business objectives. This position is based in Mackay, QLD.
Hours:This role is based on a rotating 3 week roster averaging approximately 30–32 hours per week.
It primarily consists of weekday shifts, with occasional weekend work, and includes 7 rostered days off within each 3 week cycle.
As a sales/warehouse assistant, you will work across both our sales and warehouse departments, depending on business needs.
You will be responsible for:
Assisting with inventory management.
Cash handling and processing payments and returns.
Sales support, up-selling or cross-selling products to customers.
Stocking, merchandising and maintaining the stores overall cleanliness and organisation.
Assisting in training new employees, and supporting other departments or team members as necessary.
Working collaboratively with other sales and warehouse staff, supervisors and departments to achieve organisational goals.
Timely and accurately fulfilling customer orders by picking items from inventory, packing them securely and preparing them for delivery.
Handling incoming shipments, including verifying contents and recording received quantities; also preparing outgoing shipments for delivery.
Providing excellent customer service by greeting customers, assisting them in finding products, answering questions about merchandise, and handling any complaints or issues they may have.
Professional and maintains a positive reputation.
A willingness to learn and dedication to accuracy.
Previous employment in a retail or warehouse setting.
Any experience that involved working as part of a team.
Strong customer service experience is crucial for this role.
Excellent time management, organisational and technical skills.
Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, customers and higher management.
Experience working collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced environment & in roles related to merchandising, inventory management, or visual display.
