JSMAXX PETROLEUM PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and motivated full-time Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy service station and convenience retail outlet. As Retail Manager, you will take full responsibility for the efficient running of the store, leading a small team and ensuring an excellent customer experience while meeting sales, compliance and safety targets. Key responsibilities

  • Manage daily retail and fuel operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling and banking reconciliation

  • Determine product mix, stock levels and service standards; order and maintain inventory of fuel, food and convenience lines

  • Implement purchasing and marketing policies, set prices in line with company guidelines and run in-store promotions

  • Promote and advertise the store's goods and services to maximise sales

  • Recruit, train, roster and supervise staff; manage performance and ensure adequate shift coverage

  • Maintain records of stock levels, sales and financial transactions, and prepare reports for management

  • Ensure full compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, fuel handling requirements, tobacco/lottery licensing obligations and food safety standards

  • Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally and resolve escalated issues

  • Monitor competitor activity and local market conditions to inform pricing and promotional decisions

  • Oversee site presentation, equipment maintenance and loss prevention/security procedures

About you

  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant retail management experience, preferably in service station, fuel retail, convenience or fast-paced retail environments (or a relevant qualification with equivalent experience)

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train and motivate a team

  • Strong skills in stock control, cash management and POS/back-office systems

  • Sound understanding of WHS and retail compliance obligations

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays

  • Full Australian working rights
