YOUR OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an Automotive Sales Representative to join our Mackay team.
The ideal candidate will have automotive spray painting experience, strong customer skills and excellent attention to detail. You will report to the National Automotive Manager and be responsible for the following:
Providing excellent customer service, support and advice to automotive customers, including onsite support and guidance.
Administrative duties including preparation of quotations, customer invoicing, ordering and processing of sales. and
Build positive working relationships with trading partners to ensure the ongoing development of the brand and Group reputation.
YOUR ROLE
In this position, you will work closely with the National Automotive Manager to support the delivery of key operational and sales objectives. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing and supporting existing customers by delivering a consistently professional and positive customer experience.
Driving incremental business growth in alignment with agreed strategic sales targets.
Working towards sales budgets and performance goals as set by the Managing Director.
Applying your technical expertise in paint systems to assist customers and confidently represent the company’s product range.
Maintaining strong relationships with customers across the automotive sector, including panel and crash repair shops, fabricators, and refinishers.
Staying up to date with local market conditions and competitor activity, adjusting strategies to uphold the company’s competitive position.
Collaborating with key supply partners to ensure product availability, meet customer requirements, and enhance overall service delivery.
Demonstrating initiative, self‑motivation, and adaptability in response to changing market demands.
Complying with all Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Performing any additional duties as reasonably required.
HOW YOU WILL BE ASSESSED
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong combination of technical capability and personal attributes, including:
Effective verbal communication and confident phone manner.
A positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a busy, varied role, supported by strong organisational and time‑management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
Experience within the coatings industry, particularly in the automotive sector.
Practical knowledge of protective coatings, spray equipment, and refinishing products.
Established relationships within panel beating, crash repair, refinishing, or fabrication environments.
A Spray‑Painting Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification (required for Automotive Representatives).
A current driver’s licence (manual preferred but not essential)
