Role Summary

The Field Sales and Service Agent – Alpha First Aid is responsible for servicing Alpha First Aid customers across the Townsville and surrounding North Queensland region, with the primary focus being the regular restocking and checking of workplace first aid kits. 

This is a practical, hands-on field role. The successful candidate will visit customer sites, check first aid kits, replace used or expired products, process customer invoices, manage vehicle stock, and provide reliable day-to-day customer service.

The role also includes a basic sales component. This means identifying simple opportunities to increase customer spend, recommending relevant first aid products, and helping existing customers keep their first aid supplies up to date. This is not a senior sales or key account management role. It is best suited to someone who is organised, reliable, customer-focused, comfortable working independently, and able to manage a regular service territory.

Knowledge of first aid, workplace safety, healthcare, emergency services or medical products would be helpful, but is not essential. Full product and process training will be provided.

Key Objectives

The key objectives of this role are to:

  • Complete scheduled first aid kit restocking visits for customers across the Townsville and North Queensland region.

  • Check customer first aid kits and replace used, missing, damaged or expired products.

  • Maintain regular customer service call cycles.

  • Provide friendly, reliable and professional service to customers.

  • Maintain accurate records of restocking activity, invoices, customer notes and stock used.

  • Manage vehicle stock responsibly.

  • Identify simple sales opportunities with existing customers.

  • Support the growth and retention of Alpha First Aid customers in the region.

  • Represent Alpha First Aid professionally while working at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

First Aid Kit Restocking and Field Service

  • Visit customer sites according to agreed service schedules and call cycles.

  • Check workplace first aid kits and restock products as required.

  • Remove and replace expired, damaged, used or missing first aid items.

  • Ensure customer kits are left neat, organised and appropriately stocked.

  • Record products supplied and services completed accurately.

  • Use company systems, including iPad or mobile technology, to process customer invoices and service records.

  • Ensure customers receive the correct products in a timely and professional manner.

  • Communicate any customer site issues, product shortages or service concerns to management.

Customer Service

  • Act as a local point of contact for customers during site visits.

  • Build friendly and professional relationships with regular customers.

  • Respond to basic customer questions about products, service visits and invoices.

  • Escalate complex customer queries, pricing issues or complaints to the appropriate internal team.

  • Maintain a helpful and positive approach with customers.

  • Ensure customer requests are followed up or passed on promptly.

  • Support customer retention by providing reliable and consistent service.

Sales Support and Add-On Sales

  • Identify basic sales opportunities while restocking customer sites.

  • Recommend relevant first aid products where there is a clear customer need.

  • Encourage customers to maintain suitable stock levels.

  • Support customers with repeat product requirements.

  • Pass larger sales opportunities, new site opportunities or major account matters to management.

  • Assist with growing sales from existing customers through practical product recommendations.

  • Support new customer opportunities where required, under guidance from management.

Stock and Vehicle Management

  • Maintain an organised and professional vehicle stock setup.

  • Monitor product quantities held in the vehicle.

  • Check product expiry dates and rotate stock appropriately.

  • Request stock replenishment in a timely manner.

  • Keep stock clean, secure and well presented.

  • Accurately account for products used during customer restocking visits.

  • Notify management of stock shortages, damaged products or slow-moving items.

Administration and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate service, sales and customer records.

  • Complete invoices and service documentation promptly.

  • Record customer notes, changes and relevant site information.

  • Follow company processes for stock, invoicing, customer records and reporting.

  • Provide regular updates on customer activity, service issues and local opportunities.

  • Use company technology and systems as required.

Scope of Role

This role includes:

  • First aid kit restocking.

  • Customer site visits.

  • Regular service call cycles.

  • Local customer service.

  • Basic product recommendations.

  • Add-on sales to existing customers.

  • Vehicle stock management.

  • Mobile invoicing.

  • Regional travel within the assigned territory.

  • Basic customer record keeping.

This role does not include:

  • Senior key account management.

  • Tender response preparation.

  • Strategic business development.

  • Management of staff.

  • Clinical treatment or medical advice.

  • Delivery of accredited first aid training, unless separately qualified and agreed.

  • AED technical servicing, unless separately trained and authorised.

Required Skills and Experience

The successful candidate should have:

  • Previous experience in customer service, field service, delivery, sales support, retail, warehousing, safety products or a related role.

  • Good communication skills.

  • A friendly and professional customer manner.

  • Strong organisational skills.

  • Ability to manage a daily run sheet or service schedule.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Basic computer or tablet skills.

  • Ability to complete invoices and service records accurately.

  • Ability to manage physical stock.

  • A current and clean driver’s licence.

  • Willingness to travel across the Townsville and surrounding North Queensland region.

  • Ability to lift, carry and organise product stock as required.

Highly Desirable Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be well regarded:

  • First aid products.

  • First aid kit restocking.

  • Workplace safety products.

  • Medical consumables.

  • Field service or van-based customer service.

  • Delivery or route-based service work.

  • Stock control.

  • Basic sales or customer account support.

  • Nursing, paramedicine, emergency services, first aid training or workplace health and safety.

Education and Qualifications

Formal tertiary qualifications are not required. The most important requirements are reliability, customer service ability, attention to detail, willingness to learn, ability to manage stock, and confidence working independently in the field.

A background in first aid, healthcare, emergency services, workplace health and safety, delivery, field service, retail or customer service would be highly regarded.
