About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Science Teacher (Chemistry) who can make a meaningful contribution to our expanding Science and STEM program. The ability to teach senior Chemistry is highly desirable, along with an enthusiastic and collaborative approach to teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will have strong pedagogical knowledge, a solid understanding of the Australian Curriculum, and the ability to differentiate instruction to engage learners at all levels and maximise student outcomes. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Planning and delivering highly engaging lessons in collaboration with members of the teaching team

  • Developing a culture of high expectations for all students

  • Providing feedback to students and parents via the Continuous Reporting system

  • Using data to analyse the progress of students and to review teaching and learning strategies.

  • Developing strong relationships with colleagues, students and parents

Candidate Profile

  • Degree qualified to teach Science

  • Registration with Queensland College of Teachers

  • Demonstrated high-level organisational, networking and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven subject expertise or the ability in their designated Secondary degree majors

  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills, who has the ability to engage and inspire.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • A desire to work collaboratively and positively with a diversity of personnel

  • Enthusiastic commitment to participating in the School's pastoral and cocurricular programmes
