CAPS Australia, a division of the global powerhouse Ingersoll Rand, is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Service Technician to join our Mackay team. With a proud history dating back to 1980 and a national footprint of ten branches, CAPS is a trusted name in delivering innovative compressed air and power generation solutions to industrial and manufacturing clients across Australia.

About the Role

This hands-on role involves the mechanical repair, overhaul, and maintenance of compressed air equipment and associated products. You’ll be part of a supportive team, delivering professional and timely service to our valued customers across a variety of industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults in air compressors and generators using mechanical/electrical troubleshooting techniques.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance including filter kit replacement, oil changes, cooler cleaning, and motor re-greasing.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers to optimize equipment performance.

  • Accurately complete service reports, work permits, and documentation.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols including JSA completion, PPE usage, and machine isolation procedures.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

  • Attend company-sponsored training programs.

  • Travel within Australia and internationally as required.

What You’ll Bring

  • MUST Have Standard 11 & Coal Board Medical.

  • Previous experience in a field service or maintenance role.

  • Strong fault-finding skills in compressed air and pneumatic equipment.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to work in dynamic and sometimes challenging environments.

  • Commitment to safety and compliance.

  • Australian Manual Driver’s License is essential.
