About the Role

Payne Diesel Services, trading as Ausdraulics, is seeking a skilled and motivated Fitter and Turner with strong hydraulic and machining experience to join our team. This full-time position offers a varied mix of workshop machining, hydraulic component overhauls, and on-site work, supporting clients across the mining, marine, and civil sectors. We specialise in hydraulic component overhauls, precision machining, equipment maintenance, and fixed plant maintenance; and we're actively growing our in-house manufacturing capability, including CNC production work.

What You'll Be Doing

• Machining and turning components on our CNC and conventional lathes

• Overhauling hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and components in our fully equipped workshop

• Line boring, fitting, and assembly of heavy plant and hydraulic systems

• Producing precision components and small manufacturing runs (e.g. pins and bushes)

• A mix of fixed and mobile plant maintenance

What We're Looking For

• Trade-qualified Fitter and Turner / Fitter Machinist (or equivalent experience)

• Strong machining and turning skills, conventional and, ideally, CNC

• Solid knowledge of hydraulic, grease, and equipment systems

• CNC programming / CAM experience (e.g. Fusion 360) highly regarded

• Ability to work independently

• Experience with earthmoving equipment (advantageous)

• Experience on fixed plant: processing plants, crushing plants (advantageous)

• Solid commitment to safety protocols and high-quality workmanship
