As we continue to grow, we're seeking an experienced Workshop Leading Hand (HD Mechanic or Boilermaker) to lead our Mackay workshop team in a hands-on role that offers stability, career progression, and the benefit of being home every night.

The Opportunity

This is more than a workshop role—it's your chance to lead from the front, mentor a skilled team, and play a key role in keeping our operations moving.

Your Responsibilities

• Day shift only – no night shifts

• Lead, supervise, and mentor HD Mechanics, Boilermakers, and Trades Assistants

• Oversee maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and servicing of crushing & screening plants and heavy equipment

• Coordinate workshop activities, breakdown response, and planned maintenance programs

• Support shutdown preparation and major equipment rebuilds

• Champion safety, quality, and workshop standards

• Provide technical guidance and be the go-to expert on the workshop floor

What You'll Bring

• Australian-recognised HD Mechanic / Diesel Fitter / Boilermaker Trade Qualification

• 3–5+ years post-trade experience in mining, civil, or heavy industry

• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and repair capabilities

• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams

• Solid understanding of workshop safety systems and best practices

• Ability to interpret technical manuals and drawings

• Current driver's licence and full Australian working rights

Highly Regarded

• Crushing and screening equipment experience

• Mining or heavy industrial background

• High Risk Licences (Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging)

• Previous Leading Hand or Supervisory experience
