About the Role 

We are currently seeking an experienced Boilermaker/Fitter welder to join our maintenance team in Townsville. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role is primarily responsible for providing safe and cost-effective repairs and maintenance of our mobile equipment and fixed assets. This role is full time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.

  • At all times comply with the company Health, Safety Environmental and Quality
    requirements.

  • Undertaking boiler making duties including use of: grinding, cutting (plasma and Gas
    cutting), welding (GMAW, TIG, stick), polishing, cropping and pressing.

  • Be responsive when on the on-call roster to ensure any breakdowns are resolved
    as soon as practical.

  • Repair, maintain and service mobile and fixed plant equipment within required safety and operational guidelines. Equipment may include, but is not limited to, front end loaders, excavators, forklifts, reach stackers, skid steers, trucks and cranes.

  • Diagnose faults and carry out efficient corrective action on machinery and equipment to minimise equipment failure, lack of availability and possible delays.

  • Liaise with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure fleet performance and other targets are achieved across the operations.

  • Ensure handovers are informative and efficient to support maintenance continuity.

  • Positive participation in Toolbox Talks and actively contribute to resolve production and safety issues at team level.

About You

We are seeking candidates who hold the following requirements:

  • A current C class driver’s licence. 

  • The ability to pass a police check in order to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).

  • A Cert III in Engineering - Heavy Fabrication Trade

  • Post Trade courses pertinent to mobile machinery repair, diagnosis and maintenance

  • Occupational licence pertaining to equipment being repaired. 

  • LR Licence for operating Service truck

  • The ability to read schematic drawings for diagnosis.

  • The ability to work autonomously and exercise initiative whilst working effectively in a team environment.

  • Willingness to work a flexible roster with call out requirements
