About the Role 

We are currently seeking an experienced Trade Assistant to join our maintenance team in Townsville. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role is primarily responsible for providing safe and cost-effective repairs and maintenance of our mobile equipment and fixed assets. This role is full time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.

  • At all times comply with the company Health, Safety Environmental and Quality requirements.

  • Positive participation in Toolbox Talks and actively contribute to resolve production and safety issues at team level.

  • Carry out general housekeeping duties in the workshop and wash pad areas to ensure they are kept tidy and free of hazards.

  • Perform street sweeping and cleaning requirements for NSS operations.

  • Assist with general workshop operations and undertake general labouring duties as required.

  • Regularly inspect tools and equipment to ensure they remain in a safe and sturdy condition.

  • Assisting maintenance team as required.

  • Operating equipment as required

  • Cleaning of equipment.

  • Pick up/ deliver parts & equipment as required.

About You

We are seeking candidates who hold the following requirements:

  • A current C class driver’s licence. 

  • The ability to pass a police check in order to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).

  • High risk forklift licence

Desirable

• High risk elevated work platform licence
